Who We’ve Helped

  • “This can never be said enough, but I want to keep thanking the Carlton Locksley Bennett Foundation. Maxine and the board of directors. Today as I reflect upon our relationship, it inspires gratitude and hope in me. Through the years, seeing how far your encouragement has made me go, only gives me motivation to never stop moving forward. Throughout my years in college, my journey has received the unconditional support of the Carlton Locksley Bennett Foundation. I have kept in contact with Maxine, members of the foundation, and the help they provided in my senior year of high school was only the start as they graciously helped me again during my first year of college. Their dedication warms my heart and as we have celebrated each moment of success, they give me strength to continue succeeding.”

  • “In 2013, I had the good fortune to meet Mrs. Maxine E. Lewis and it was like meeting my guardian angel. “You can accomplish anything you set your mind to,” she told me, and through many future challenges, those words kept me going. Mrs. Lewis is truly a great woman with a big heart, and I soon learned that the Foundation’s board members share her integrity, dignity, sense of purpose, and love for people. Through the Foundation, I was able to start college. I went on to graduate in 2019 with honors in psychology and earn a Master in 2022. The Foundation will forever be a second family for me. I am deeply grateful to the Carlton Locksley Bennett Foundation Inc. for the very real help they gave not only to me but to as many low income people as possible. There is a saying that “it takes a village to raise a child.” It also takes committed leaders, organizers, and financial resources. At Carlton Locksley Bennett Foundation, the dreams of young people are personally honored, nurtured, and watered to life. This foundation will change lives and help create a generation of young people to assume leadership roles to serve diverse communities and the world at large.”
